On behalf of El Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlan (MEChA), congratulations on your acceptance to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)! We are sure you and your family are very proud of this great achievement. This email is an invitation to our 19th Annual Raza Day Admit Weekend.
The goal of this event is to encourage you to attend UCLA and ease your transition from high school to university. Our three-day weekend event is full of performances, guest speakers, and interactive workshops that showcase the many organizations and academic resources available for you at UCLA. This event will be held from Friday, April 13th to Sunday, April 15th. You should plan to arrive at UCLA Friday morning no later than 7:00 a.m. for check in. The event will conclude on Sunday at 12:30 pm. This entire program is free. However, parking is available on campus for $12/day.
Our program includes the opportunity for you to stay overnight on Friday and Saturday with a current UCLA Raza student living in the university residence halls. You are more than welcome to bring your parents and relatives to attend Friday’s events. However, the overnight experience is only for admitted students. We highly encourage you to stay overnight with us. You will gain a better understanding of what it means to be a student of color here at UCLA, and a more holistic sense of our campus and residential life. You will also have the opportunity to attend Bruin Day on Saturday, April 14. Space is limited so please RSVP on the Admission Decision website by Friday.
